Pedigrees.

MÁRK keeps its own book of breed by agreement with the FCI-member MEOE.

MEOE issues the FCI pedigree based on the MÁRK pedigree.

The regulations of issuing the pedigree and of breeding of MÁRK agree with those of the ADRK and are stricter than those of the MEOE.     The latter keeps its own Rottweiler book of breed by its own regulations and requirements too, in accordance with the FCI obligatory requirements.

The conditions of obtaining the MÁRK pedigree are: certification of MÁRK ZtP. aptitude, HD control is obligatory, ED is advised.

We accept the certification of the parents’ aptitude for ADRK, ÖRK and SRC ZtP. too.

National kennelclub.

The official name of the Hungarian national FCI organization

Magyar Ebtenyésztők Országos Egyesülete

(MEOE, in English: Hungarian Kennel Club).

      President: Mr. István Nagy

Address: H-1116 Budapest, Tétényi út 128/b-130.

      Website: www.meoe.net.  -  E-mail: meoe@axelero.hu.

Numbers.

The estimated number of Rottweilers in Hungary with pedigree recognized by FCI is appr. 5-6000.

There is no record of deceases and of exporting.

At the FCI shows, including MÁRK shows, the overall number of dogs nominated each year is less than 1000.

The number of FCI pedigrees issued for Rottweilers by MEOE:

1998    appr. 8000

1999    appr. 6930

2000    appr. 5110

2001    appr. 3220

2002             1919

Littercontrols.

Litter-controls and tattooing (on reports of litter to the local organizations or the pedigree-office of the MEOE) are carried out (after obtaining the FCI pedigree) by the tattooists working at the local organizations of MEOE.

MÁRK, however, also organizes litter-controls when the litter is reported to MÁRK. It is carried out by the chief of breed-control and the tattooing and issuing of the MÁRK pedigree follows his controlling.

The MÁRK pedigree can be naturalized by the MEOE pedigree-office by the request of the breeder/owner and in this way it becomes FCI-recognized.

Breedingregulations.

The breeding-regulations of MÁRK are identical to those of ADRK.

MÁRK organizes ZtP. tests and its regulations agree with those of the ADRK ZtP. The only difference is that MÁRK does not require BH and AD exams as preconditions for applying for the ZtP.

Dogrelated legislation.

There is no specific legislature on dog-keeping in Hungary, the act on animal protection is currently being

drafted.

The Ministry of  Agriculture and Rural Developments (FVM) has a  decree on the regulation of dog-breeding

recognized by the state which is  independent from the international norms of FCI.    It has been attacked at the

Constitutional Court by several dog-breeding organizations,  including MEOE.

The 64/1998 FVM decree wants to restrict the activity of the dog-breeding (i.e.dog-breeding as a hobby, so

nonprofit) organizations in a way similar to the national regulation of  livestock breeding.

FCI-recognition is not a precondition for breeding organizations of obtaining acknowledgement by the state.

There are several on-going law-cases and proceedings in this matter.

Our activities.

IPO examinations and trials are organized by the sport-clubs, training schools and the guarding- working dogs committee of the MEOE.

The IPO I. level exams of dogs achieving good ratings at shows (Champion-candidates) are the typical. There are very few Rottweilers applying for work-trials, although private security services often keep well-trained Rottweilers. MÁRK organized its last trial 6 years ago and none since then due to lack of applicants.

We could delegate two dogs twice to the IFR world championship in Belgium – they performed well - currently there are three dogs having IPO III. exam and five holding IPO II.

The National Hungarian title + clubtitle.

The conditions of obtaining the FCI-recognised national title are identical with those of the FCI regulations, it is not obligatory to win the  title of Clubsieger.

At the annual Clubsieger shows the titles of Clubsieger and Junior Clubsieger are awarded.

At a part of our shows we issue CAC in accordance with the FCI classification, at our special breed shows the classification of the German (ADRK) shows are valid.
