Breedsuitability-test.
In the 90’s, like in a lot of countries in the world, there were more and more problems with biting dogs. The responsible minister would forbid several breeds. At first the Rottweiler was not on the list, but, when a terrible accident happens, the Rottweiler came also on the list. The university in Utrecht was preparing a new test, the MAG-test (society acceptable behaviour) the Rottweiler club was now able to talk with the minister and got permission to breed Rottweilers if they pass this test. Later also the other “dangerous” breeds used the same rules. If Rottweilers pass the MAG-test there are voluntary more test for the “better” dogs. There is a test for dogs that are not trained and worked with, the “self-assured” test and it is also possible to do the ZTP and Korung, about the same as in Germany.
