The Estonian Rottweiler Club was founded in 1992, with the aim of uniting rottweiler owners and
promoting breeding and training activity. The Estonian Rottweiler Club is associated to the
Estonian Kennel Union and acts as a “parent club” responsible for working out and adopting
breeding requirements in Estonia, as well as for organizing annual main specialty shows and breed
suitability tests. As often as necessary the club organizes trainings, competitions and working trials.

Breeding regulations for Rottweilers 

The following breeding requirements are valid from 01.01.2009 to 31.12 2013 and must be fulfilled
for both dogs before the breeding.
Both dogs must be X-rayed for hip (HD) and elbow (ED) dysplasia.
Only the dogs with HD test results A, B and C can be used for breeding. The dogs with HD D
cannot be used for breeding. The dogs with C can only be bred to those with A or B.
Only the dogs with ED test results 0 and 1 can be used for breeding. The dogs with ED 2 and 3
cannot be used for breeding.
The dogs with osteoarthrosis cannot be used for breeding.
The breeding dogs must have at least one of the following working trial qualifications:
males - obedience training class 3
females - obedience training class 3
BH
IPO 1, SchH 1, VPG 1
The male dogs must have show qualification EXC (excellent) given by three different judges,
including one qualification received at a breed specialty show. The dogs older than 36 months must
have received the last qualification at the age of over 30 months. The dogs under 24 months of age
at the breeding day can be used for breeding without a specialty show qualification. The results
obtained in the puppy and veteran classes are not taken into account.
The female dogs must have show qualification VG (very good) given by three different judges,
including one qualification received at a breed speciality show. The dogs older than 36 months must
have received the last qualification at the age of over 30 months. The dogs under 24 months of age
at the breeding day can be used for breeding without a specialty show qualification. The results
obtained in the puppy and veteran classes are not taken into account.

The breed specialty show qualification can be one degree lower than that obtained at a regular
show: at least "very good" for males and "good" for females.
The show qualification is not required if the breed suitability (ZtP) test shows that the dog is fit for breeding.
